Most of you are here because you filled out a survey for an event concept I teased you with called The Baths. And then like a shitty Hinge date… I left you on read.

literally the worst.
Soz about that.
I went to a conference earlier this month called Planet Taboo. One thing so many people I spoke to are dealing with is perfectionism (sheepishly raising my own hand here).
Not starting because the branding isn’t done (it’s not, more on that below), the story isn’t perfect (it’s not, we are a work in progress), or the idea isn’t finalised (also, you guessed it, coming soon).
But I left feeling like I could commit to at least showing up imperfectly to give you the scoop on what's bubbling, what you can expect from The Baths moving forward, and hopefully deliver some fun to your inbox along the way.
So welcome to The Baths newsletter (fancy name also a WIP 🤣 ).
The Brand: What does The Baths look like?
TLDR: The Baths is getting her first real face (aka logo & colours & branding)… and I am SO EXCITED!
I met the wonderful Lila, founder of Studio Muse Muse, at the launch party for issue 3 of Moi magazine. Besides being a brilliant brand designer, she’s also the Publisher & Managing Editor behind Moi Magazine. If you haven’t yet - go download Moi, or better yet, buy a real life copy.
Within seconds of chatting, I knew she was my woman. She understands female pleasure. She gets what it means to reclaim it, to celebrate it, to make it feel accessible, and fun, and not scary or taboo or overtly sexual. To visually represent pleasure from a female lens.
And so when I needed someone who could help bring The Baths to life, I knew it had to be her. She’s busy behind the scenes creating a deliciously, awesome brand for us.
I’M SO EXCITED!
The Story: Why does The Baths exist?
TLDR: It’s personal…
Hey, I’m Laura. 👋
I grew up religious (all girls catholic school anyone?), internalised sexual shame, and spent years unlearning it (I’m 36 years old and still in the process!).
I know what it feels like to be curious but afraid, to want to explore pleasure but not know where to start, to feel like an outsider even among your best friends.
Truth is, I’m still learning how to fully claim my pleasure. But each bit I capture, I see that confidence ripple into my relationships, career, and how I show up in the world.
It’s 2026 and I still can’t believe there’s no pleasure expo for women, by women.
So I’m building it. 😇

Important Question: Do we need a giant blow up vulva at The Baths?
The Idea: What actually is The Baths
That’s a good question. And one that your survey replies helped answer. You told me who you want to see, what brands you want to see, and what kind of content. So here’s my vision:
It’s a 1 day event, you come with your gal pals, or solo (there’s some special content being designed for you brave souls!)
There’s an expo floor, but it’s one you actually want to explore. You can touch & feel all the toys, lubes, lingerie and ask the important questions before buying. Like “Excuse me but which vibe doesn’t have morse code vibrations” (IYKYK).
There’s a theatre with content that runs all day, and they will be targeted to varying comfort levels: vanilla to spicy. No pressure to attend anything!
Workshop spaces where you can take part in life drawing, etc
Playful activities: Smutty book club meetups IRL, sexy trivia, maybe a podcast stage
A welcoming bar full of alcohol & non-alcoholic options (because sometimes pleasure is as simple as waking up without a hangover)
And importantly clothes stay on. This isn’t a play party.
The ideas are endless…it all depends on the space we secure, and how we can make it the most comfortable set up for the ultimate day out celebrating pleasure. ✨
What comes next:
I’m speaking with vendors (thanks to your answers!).
I’m chatting to venues. I'm hoping to have an official date to share soon!
In the meantime, I’m launching smaller events starting in June. If you are a brand, sexologist, or someone who would want to get involved - drop me a note!
I’ll be back in your inbox soon with more behind the scenes, and some interesting pleasure notes too (next issue: why are nudes so taboo). I promise these will stay SFW!
Until next time bathers,
🫧 Laura
P.S. My inbox is always open for hellos, ideas & partnerships. 💌 [email protected]
This is not an ad, I’m just a fan girl…
Seriously, go check out Moi.
I’ve read all 4 issues cover to cover.
The latest issue is called THE FUTURISTS.
It’s hot, sexy, and makes you wonder what the future of pleasure could look like.
I think the future includes new events, like The Baths 😉 .
